Life is Short, Make it Meaningful

When was the last time you stopped what you were doing and looked into your life? All of us have become so engrossed in our selves and this mad rush to succeed, that we really have lost the true meaning of life.

The trivialities of life are catching up with us and before we know it technology and its fruits will devour us and our humanity. Today everyone I come across has joined the rat race waiting to put some one else down while making their own presence felt. All this competition and a mad sense of superiority is definitely taking its toll on people.

You can see live examples of this dangerous attitude in the form of road rage, disrespect for women, bad service or rather the lack of it at a restaurant etc etc. If each of us realized that success and a little competition is good but not at the cost of hurting someone, this world would be a much better place to live in.

I must not forget to practice what I preach too, because before you expect someone to change, you MUST try to make a difference in your own attitude in any small way possible.

A good way to start is by trying these simple steps -

Greet Your neighbor with a smile the next time you see them.

Just once, do not overtake while driving and see how it feels.

You may have plenty of reasons that justify your pride but just once try being modest.

Restrain from calling someone names and experience the power of control!

Don't unnecessarily blow your horns.....remember: noise pollution can be deafening.

Do something nice for someone else and you will be amazed by the sense of contentment you will derive from it.

Treat a poor child to an ice cream and enjoy the look of happiness on their face thereafter. I am sure you will not be able to put that smile out of your mind for a long time.

While driving when the traffic signal turns red, try to relax....feel what it's like to follow the rules...Believe me it's a good feeling

Self discipline is probably the most difficult to implement. Try this and feel the difference.

Remember: You only get one lifetime so live it well..
