Tuesday, June 8, 2010

As a college graduate enters the corporate world, he/she starts floating in cloud 9 and many rollbacks can hit them at that time and set their pace wrong. So the tough question that arises is what to do in any new organization once we enter the totally different corporate world from our college lifes?

Here I wanted to share some points with all the newly hired people which might help them out to get settled in their new organization quickly and in a better way. Let’s discuss each and every thing in points form as stated below:-

1. Don’t Be Too Aggressive
2. Remember Names of people around you
3. Learn the Landscape
4. Be Likable
5. Offer to Help Out Your New Co-workers
6.Meet and Network with Key People in Organization & Profession
7. Keep Your Boss/Manager Informed -- of Everything
8. Get and Stay Organized/Set Goals
9. Find a Mentor in your organization who can guide you in your career ladder
10. Listen More than Talk
11. Avoid Office Politics and Gossip
12. Keep Personal Business on Company Time to a Minimum
13. Establish a Good Attendance Record
14. Discover Everything about Your New Employer
15. Be a Self-Starter; Take Initiative
16. Ask your Questions/Ask for Help and get all your doubts solved
17. Dress Professionally/Blend in With Co-Workers
18. Have a Positive Attitude not only in job but in life also

These are few pointers which will help/guide you to blend easily in a new environment and I hope will help you in laying down a strong foundation for your future to come ahead.

Have a belief that future is bright and then just go for it and show the world that we are different from others and are ready to take the charge and prove ourselves in front of everyone’s eye.

Last but not least, don’t panic in your new environment and don’t carry everything on your back as the almighty has the perfect plan for each and every one and no two plans are ever similar so your plan may take time to show the results, but results will come definitely.

Have faith in yourself and the almighty.

All the very best and bright future to all…
